Alvark Tokyo - Nagoya DD 80-86 An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Second ranked Nagoya DD faced their close opponent Alvark Tokyo. Guests from Nagoya (21-8) defeated host Alvark Tokyo (21-8) 86-80. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Alvark Tokyo. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 assists. North Macedonian-American center Shane Whittington (211-91, college: W.Michigan) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Nagoya DD players scored in double figures. At the losing side Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Nagoya DD. They maintain second place with 21-8 record having just two point less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with defeated Alvark Tokyo. Nagoya DD will meet at home Tochigi Brex (#6) in the next round. Alvark Tokyo will play against Sea Horses M. (#5) in Kariya and hope to secure a win. Chiba Jets defeated 4th placed Akita NH at home 85-69. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) fired 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import forward John Mooney (206-98, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). It was a great evening for American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Point guard Satoshi Nagano (175-95) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists. The visitors from Okinawa managed to secure only one-point victory 86-85. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. It was a great shooting night for Ryukyu GK especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Christian) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Dai Oketani allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) answered with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 blocks and Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Shinshu BW. Ryukyu GK have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 24-3 record. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the seventh position with 17 games lost. It was a great evening for international point guard Leo Vendrame (183-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 5 assists. American forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) helped adding 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hitachi SRT players scored in double figures. Hitachi SRT's coach Tsutomu Isa used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: SDJ Sports) scored 19 points.
