Regular Season Round 31: Alvark Tokyo - Nagoya DD 80-86

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Second ranked Nagoya DD faced their close opponent Alvark Tokyo. Guests from Nagoya (21-8) defeated host Alvark Tokyo (21-8) 86-80. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Alvark Tokyo. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 assists. North Macedonian-American center Shane Whittington (211-91, college: W.Michigan) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Nagoya DD players scored in double figures. At the losing side Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Nagoya DD. They maintain second place with 21-8 record having just two point less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with defeated Alvark Tokyo. Nagoya DD will meet at home Tochigi Brex (#6) in the next round. Alvark Tokyo will play against Sea Horses M. (#5) in Kariya and hope to secure a win.
