Regular Season Round 31: Shinshu BW - Ryukyu GK 85-86

Seventh-ranked Shinshu BW (12-17) made lots of trouble for first ranked Ryukyu GK (24-3) in Nagano. The visitors from Okinawa managed to secure only one-point victory 86-85. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. It was a great shooting night for Ryukyu GK especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Christian) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Dai Oketani allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) answered with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 blocks and Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Shinshu BW. Ryukyu GK have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 24-3 record. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the seventh position with 17 games lost. They share it with Hokkaido L.. Ryukyu GK will play against Akita NH (#5) on the road in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against Osaka E. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
