The Regular Season in B1 League is almost over. Almost everything is clear. There are only 3 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Kawasaki BT (38-19) on the court of seventh ranked Toyama G. on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Toyama G. 95-76. Toyama G. had a 33-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. British forward Myles Hesson (198-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his sixteen free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Novar Gadson (201-1989, college: Rider) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyama G. maintains seventh position with 13-44 record. Kawasaki BT at the other side still keeps top place with 19 games lost. Toyama G. are again looking forward to face league's leader Kawasaki BT in Kanagawa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kawasaki BT will have a break next round.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Shimane SM (45-12) against fourth ranked Hiroshima D. (40-16) on Saturday night. Host Shimane SM was defeated by Hiroshima D. in Shimane 87-74. American forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Kai Soto supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Even 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists by American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Shimane SM. Hiroshima D. moved-up to third place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Shimane SM at the other side keeps the second position with 12 games lost. Hiroshima D. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shimane SM will play again at home against Hiroshima D. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. Davante Gardner fired 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Sea Horses M.'s coach Kimikazu Suzuki used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Josh Hawkinson produced 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Sea Horses M. maintains fifth position with 25-32 record. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the third place with 29 games lost. Sea Horses M. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shinshu BW will play again against Sea Horses M. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 58: Alvark Tokyo lost to Chiba Jets on the opponent's court 75-89. Nagoya DD managed to outperform Kyoto H. in a home game 80-64. FE Nagoya recorded a loss to Gunma CT on the road 74-58. Hokkaido L. defeated Sendai 89ers on its own court 81-74. Akita NH were beaten by Ibaraki R. in Mito 91-82. San-en NP lost to Niigata A. at home 80-98. Osaka E. unfortunately lost to Ryukyu GK on the opponent's court 64-75. Shiga L-Stars lost to defending champion Tochigi Brex in a home game 74-86. Yokohama BC were defeated by Hitachi SRT on the road 91-95.




Chiba Jets - Alvark Tokyo 89-75

The game between closely ranked teams ended with their biggest opponent Alvark Tokyo's (42-15) road loss to first ranked Chiba Jets (51-6) 75-89 on Saturday. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) fired 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. The former international forward Ryan Rossiter (204-1989, college: Siena) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chiba Jets have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 51-6 record. Loser Alvark Tokyo keeps the second place with 15 games lost. Chiba Jets will again meet at home league's second-placed Alvark Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alvark Tokyo will have a break next round.

Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American center Alan Williams (203-1993, college: UCSB) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-1992) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Nagoya DD players scored in double figures. Canadian-Filipino guard Matthew Wright (193-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) produced 15 points and 6 assists and Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) added 13 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Kyoto H.'s coach Roy Rana rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. It was a great shooting night for Hokkaido L. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Filipino guard Dwight Ramos (193-1998, college: CPP) fired 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners.
