Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The biggest surprise took place in Nagasaki where host Velca (24-3) beat league's leader Jets (22-5) 86-79 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Jets. The best player for the winners was American Stanley Johnson (201-1996, college: Arizona) who scored 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. South Korean swingman Hyunjung Lee (201-2000, college: Davidson) chipped in 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward DJ Hogg (203-1996, college: Texas A&M) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds. Nagasaki maintains first place with 24-3 record which they share with defeated Chiba Jets. Chiba Jets at the other side still keep top position with five games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Nagasaki who have the same record. Chiba Jets will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Nagasaki will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Chiba Jets at home.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked SeaHorses (19-8) against fourth ranked Alvark (17-10) on Saturday night. Host SeaHorses were defeated by Alvark in a tough game in Kariya 73-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SeaHorses. It was a good game for Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Marcus Foster contributed with 22 points for the winners. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds for Sea Horses M.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvark have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Alvark Tokyo maintains fourth place with 17-10 record, which they share with Ryukyu and Gunma CT. Sea Horses M. at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Alvark Tokyo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sea Horses M. will play at home against Alvark Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Nagoya DD maintains second place with 21-6 record behind leader Nagasaki, which they share with Hokkaido L. Loser Magic keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Sendai 89ers and Hiroshima D.. Nagoya DD will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shimane SM will play against the league's second-placed Nagoya DD (#2) and hope to secure a win.

Hiroshima D. unfortunately lost to Ibaraki R. in a home game 72-87. Kyoto H. was rolled over Hokkaido L. on the road 62-96. Yokohama BC defeated Chiba on its own court 80-69. San-en NP was smashed by Gunma CT in a road game 96-69. Kawasaki lost to Saga B. at home 84-91. Tochigi Brex outscored Koshigaya A. on the opponent's court 86-61. Shiga L-Stars recorded a loss to Toyama G. in a home game 99-100. Osaka E. was defeated by Sunrockers Sh. on the road 73-65.
The best stats of 27th round was 19 points and 10 rebounds by Josh Hawkinson of Sunrockers Sh..



Kawasaki BT - Saga B. 73-82

There was no surprise in Kanagawa where 12th ranked Brave Thunders (6-22) were defeated by seventh ranked Ballooners (14-14) 82-73 on Friday. Saga B. made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game, while Kawasaki only scored one point from the stripe. Saga B. forced 19 Kawasaki turnovers. It was a great evening for Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-1990) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. American David Dudzinski (205-1992, college: Holy Cross) helped adding 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Ballooners players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Dusan Ristic (213-1995, college: Arizona) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-1993, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Ballooners. Saga B. maintains seventh place with 14-14 record. Loser Brave Thunders keeps the twelfth position with 22 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
