B1 League round 42 most important game was a victory of Sea Horses M. over one of their biggest challengers Ryukyu 79-70 on Wednesday night. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Jake Layman (206-1994, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Important game to mention about took place in Hiroshima. Eighth ranked B-Corsairs (16-26) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Dragonflies (25-17) 88-85 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Dragonflies. French power forward Damien Inglis (206-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Gary Clark chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. B-Corsairs' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Yokohama BC maintains eighth position with 16-26 record, which they share with Koshigaya A. and Osaka E. Hiroshima D. at the other side keeps the fifth place with 17 games lost. An interesting game was also surprising home defeat of 4th ranked Hokkaido L. in a game in Sapporo versus Sunrockers Sh. (#7) 90-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sapporo. Josh Hawkinson notched 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort. Even 24 points and 4 assists by Keisei Tominaga did not help to save the game for Sapporo. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sunrockers Sh. maintains seventh position with 18-24 record. Loser Sapporo dropped to the third place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Sea Horses M.. Sunrockers Sh. will meet Kyoto H. (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hokkaido L. will play against San-en NP (#6) in Hamamatsu and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 42: Chiba was beaten by Alvark Tokyo on the road 87-81. Kawasaki lost to Gunma CT on its own court 76-89. Akita NH was outscored by Chiba Jets in a road game 59-97. Nagoya DD managed to beat FE Nagoya at home 76-72. Toyama G. was defeated by Koshigaya A. on the opponent's court 92-85. Kyoto H. was beaten by Nagasaki in a home game 80-90. San-en NP won against Saga B. on the road 96-91. Shiga L-Stars unfortunately lost to Sendai 89ers on its own court 81-87. Osaka E. managed to beat Shimane SM in a road game 75-67. Tochigi Brex defeated Ibaraki R. at home 90-84.
The most impressive performance of 42th round was 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists by DJ Newbill of Tochigi Brex.




Alvark Tokyo - Chiba 87-81

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Alvark (30-12) beat 10th ranked Chiba (14-28) in Tokyo 87-81 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) notched 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and American Marcus Foster (191-1995, college: Creighton) supported him with 18 points. Alvark's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest.
