Australia rallied past Jordan to advance into the semifinal stage. Australia dominated from start to finish. They established a 60-23 halftime lead. They sank 57 points in the second half and cruised to the win. Henry Sewell (204-C-2007) scored 18 points and collected 13 rebounds, while Sa Pilimai (217-C-2007) added 16 points for Australia. Karim Aljaibat (199-G-2007) and Altayyeb Kassem (198-C-2007) had 10 points each for Jordan. China - Iran 62-56 China held off Iran to stay in the title race in Doha. Iran led by three points ten minutes into the game. But China used a 29-24 rally in the second half to snatch the win. Boyuan Zhang (203-F-2007) tossed in 22 points, while Wudi Shen (187-F-2007) added 14 points for China. Iman Valizadeh (191-SG-2007) answered with 12 points for Iran. New Zealand - Qatar 110-33 New Zealand crushed hosting Qatar to secure the semifinal berth. The Kiwis recorded a comfortable 59-19 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Oscar Goodman (199-PF-2007) nailed 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, while Lachlan Crate (197-SG-2007) contributed 20 points for New Zealand. Mohamed Ndao (193-G-2007) responded with 16 points and 11 rebounds for Qatar. Japan - Philippines 59-64 Philippines outscored Japan to advance into the semifinal stage in Doha. Japan led by as many as 10 points at halftime 35-25. But Philippines responded with a 39-24 second half surge to secure the victory. Kiefer Alas (188-G-2007) tossed in 29 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for the winning side. Shogo Takata (189-F-2007) answered with 12 points for Japan. |
