FINALAustralia - Japan 94-63Australia defended their Asian U16 title as they cruised past Japan in the Final in Doha tonight. Australia dominated from start to finish. They established a 41-32 halftime lead. Australia followed with a 24-15 run in the third period to open an 18-point lead and never looked back en route to the trophy. Roman Siulepa (196-SG-2006) posted 18 points and 9 rebounds, while Kye Savage (186-G-2005) added 15 points in the win. Yuto Kawashima (201-F-2005) answered with 23 points and 7 rebounds for Japan. 3-4 PlaceNew Zealand - Lebanon 89-62New Zealand rallied past Lebanon to clinch the third position in Doha. New Zealand grabbed a 28-10 lead after ten minutes. They extended the advantage at 28-point mark at the big break 51-23. Lebanon narrowed the gap in the third term. But New Zealand followed with a 21-15 run in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Nicholas Book (203-F-2006) posted 17 points and 10 rebounds, while George Turner (195-SG-2005) added 12 points in the win. Jean Shamee (203-F-2005) and Nikolai Choueiri (201-C-2006) had 12 points each for Lebanon. 5-6 PlaceSouth Korea - India 80-90India toppled South Korea to earn the fifth position at the championship. India registered a 45-33 halftime lead. India sank 26 points in the third quarter to take an 18-point lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Lokendra Singh (194-SG-2005) tallied 29 points and 20 rebounds, while Jaideep Rathore (177-PG-2005) added 20 points for India. Ku Mingyo (197-C-2005) answered with 17 points for South Korea. 7-8 PlacePhilippines - Iran 95-87Philippines finished their campaign on a high note. They defeated Iran to earn the 7th position in Doha. Iran led by as many as 9 points at halftime 48-39. But Philippines turned things around in the second half. They unleashed 56 points and raced to the victory. Alexander Konov (201-C-2005) delivered 18 points, while Caelum Harris (196-SF-2005) had 15 points for Philippines.
