New Zealand, Lebanon, Philippines and India advance into quarterfinals

New Zealand - Kuwait 107-57
New Zealand crushed Kuwait to ensure the quarterfinal berth. New Zealand piled up a 45-32 halftime lead. They went on a 41-9 run in the third term to clear off for good. Nicholas Book (203-F-2006) posted 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Kiwis. Adel Alsaied (187-G-2006) and Faisal Al-Husaini (180-F-2005) had 17 points each for Kuwait.

Lebanon - Qatar 78-54
Lebanon outgunned Qatar to punch quarterfinal ticket in Doha. Lebanon stunned the hosts with a 37-22 first half run. Lebanon added 41 points in the second half and marched to the victory. Rayan Hachem (196-G-2005) posted 17 points, while Anthony Nabaa (200-F-2006) added 13 points for Lebanon. Mohamed Ndao (193-G-2007) answered with 18 points for Qatar.

Philippines - Kazakhstan 83-60
Philippines eased past Kazakhstan in the eighth-final stage. They got off to a strong start. Philippines dropped 53 points in the first half to open an 18-point lead. They controlled the tempo in the second half and rallied to the victory. Lorenzo Competente (188-G-2005) finished with 15 points, while Jacob Bayla (193-F-2005) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Daniil Severgin (183-PG-2005) answered with 24 points and 9 rebounds for Kazakhstan.

India - Indonesia 97-53
India breezed past Indonesia en route to the quarterfinal stage in Doha. India eked out a 2-point lead ten minutes into the game. But they went on a 50-19 run in the next two quarters to take a comfortable lead. Jaideep Rathore (177-PG-2005) had 27 points and 7 assists for India. Lokendra Singh (194-SG-2005) tallied 30 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists in the victory. Cliffton Wijaya (190-F-2006) answered with 16 points for Indonesia.
