New Zealand - Hong Kong 124-61
New Zealand cruised past Hong Kong in the opener. Mitchell Dance (190-SG-01) stepped up with 18 points and 7 rebounds to pace the Kiwis. New Zealand dominated from start to finish. They accumulated a 60:26 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Te Tuaio Rautangata (176-SG-01) had 16 points in the victory. Siu Wai-Yiu (184-PF-01) answered with 13 points for Hong Kong.

Group B
Philippines - Malaysia 62-57
Philippines posted the first win in Group B. They rallied past Malaysia in the opener. Kai Sotto (216-C-02) stepped up with 14 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Philippines grabbed a 30:27 halftime lead. They went on a 19:13 run in the third term to clear off for good. Terrence Fortea (180-PG-01) had 13 points and 9 caroms in the win. Jun-Kai Tang (184-SF-01) answered with 17 points for Malaysia.

Group C
Taiwan - Macau 122-47
Taiwan cruised past Macau for the first win at the championship. Lin Lin (180-PG-01) stepped up with 28 points and 6 steals for the winners. Taiwan posted a 46:15 halftime lead and coasted to the victory in the second half. Hsu Ching-En (190-PF-01) tossed in 18 points for Taiwan. Hua Liang (190-C-01) replied with 12 points and 8 boards for Macau.

Group D
Japan - Lebanon 94-68
Keisei Tominaga (180-G-01) scored 15 points to lead Japan past Lebanon in Day 1. Japan dropped 46 points in the first half to gain a 13-point halftime lead. They followed with a 29:13 run in the third period to clear off for good. Takuto Nakamura (182-G-01) had 14 points for the winners. Rayan Zanbaka (189-SG-01) answered with 21 points and 12 rebounds for Lebanon.

India - South Korea 71-92
South Korea were dominant at the start of the tournament. They fired past India behind 19 points from Kim Jaehyeon (190-G-01). South Korea accumulated a 45:30 halftime lead. They tallied 47 points in the second half to march to the win. Moon Jeonghyeon (190-F-01) provided 13 points in the victory. Princepal Singh (208-C-01) notched 28 points and 17 rebounds for India.
