Al Ahly was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 27-19 charge of Kuwait, which allowed them to win the game. U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt (196-1994, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) saved the victory by scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-1992, college: UMass, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-1989, college: UIS) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and guard Amr Abdelhalim (192-1991) added 18 points and 4 steals in the effort for Al Ahly. Four Al Ahly players scored in double figures. Al Ahly's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
