AS Sale - Ahly Tripoli 75-69 The biggest surprise took place in Sale where host Moroccan AS Sale (4-0) beat league's leader Libyan Ahly Tripoli (3-1) 75-69 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ahly Tripoli. It was a key game for the top position in the league. AS Sale have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Moroccan champion keeps a position of league leader which they share with defeated Ahly Tripoli. Ahly Tripoli at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with Al Gezira. They were replaced at the leadership position by Al Gezira. Al Gezira - Beirut Club 78-75 The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Egyptian Al Gezira as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Gezira edged top-ranked Lebanese Beirut Club78-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Beirut Club. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Al Gezira have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Ahly Tripoli. Beirut Club at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Al-Riffa and Al Ettehad. Beirut Club will play next round against Ahli Sadab trying to get back on the winning streak. Al Gezira will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al-Riffa - Ahli Sadab 80-70 Bottom-ranked Omani Ahli Sadab (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 80-70 loss to third ranked Bahrain Al-Riffa (2-1) on Saturday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Al-Riffa moved-up to second place, which they share with Beirut Club and Al Ettehad. Loser Ahli Sadab still closes the standings with three games lost. Al-Riffa will meet Al Rayyan (#4) in the next round. Ahli Sadab will play against the league's second-placed Beirut Club and hopes to get finally their first victory. |
