Shoot it Dragon - Mad Goat 79-70 We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Mad Goat (2-7) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Shoot it Dragon (2-7) 79-70 on Wednesday. Shoot it Dragon forced 22 Mad Goat turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Frederick Jones-Goldstein (178-1988, college: USA) who scored 33 points (!!!). Swingman Panthawat Techasamran chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Shoot it Dragon's coach Boonchai Rittiphanyawong used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Polish Robert Kowalczyk (202-1995) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 23 rebounds and point guard Wirakul Denkesineechailai (180) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Mad Goat players scored in double figures. Shoot it Dragon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Mad Goat. This time they crushed sixth ranked SWU (3-6) 118-90. Devil Rays dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to SWU's 42. They outrebounded SWU 53-33 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Devil Rays players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. International Moses Morgan (198-1992, college: CS Fullerton) nailed a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-1994, college: PVAMU) accounted for 36 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Johnson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Devil Rays' coach S. Premprapan felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Natthaworn Banjathon (179) came up with 26 points and 6 assists and swingman Pongsatorn Tabtim (187-1998) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for SWU in the defeat. Four Devil Rays and five SWU players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Devil Rays maintains first place with 8-1 record, which they share with Hitech. SWU lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Thunders. Dunkin' Raptors maintains fifth place with 5-4 record. T-REX lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Bangkok Tigers - Hitech 64-78 The most shocking disappointment of round 9 was a home defeat of second-best Bangkok Tigers (7-2) to third ranked Hitech (8-1) 78-64. It ended the two-game winning streak of Bangkok Tigers. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Bangkok Tigers 49-33 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hitech looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American forward Joshua Keyes (201-1995, college: Muskingum, agency: PBAplayers Agency) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international Nakorn Jaisanuk (188-1991) chipped in 17 points. Keyes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Hitech players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Takamin Sirijariyaporn with 23 points and 4 assists and Cameroonian forward Gabriel Yeumo (200-1988) scored 9 points and 15 rebounds. Hitech have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Devil Rays. Bangkok Tigers at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with TGE. International center Anasawee Klaewnarong (199-1993) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Five TGE players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Kittitep Lane Dasom who recorded 28 points and Chiedoziem Okafor added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for TGE. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Bangkok Tigers. Thunders lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with SWU.
