The most shocking disappointment of round 9 was a home defeat of second-best Bangkok Tigers (7-2) to third ranked Hitech (8-1) 78-64. It ended the two-game winning streak of Bangkok Tigers. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Bangkok Tigers 49-33 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hitech looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American forward Joshua Keyes (201-1995, college: Muskingum, agency: PBAplayers Agency) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international Nakorn Jaisanuk (188-1991) chipped in 17 points. Keyes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Hitech players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Takamin Sirijariyaporn with 23 points and 4 assists and Cameroonian forward Gabriel Yeumo (200-1988) scored 9 points and 15 rebounds. Hitech have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Devil Rays. Bangkok Tigers at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with TGE.
