The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Aquas (17-6) against fourth ranked TB Herobears on Saturday night. TB Herobears were defeated by TB Herobears 99-92. They made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. TB Herobears outrebounded Aquas 47-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Aquas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American power forward Diamond Stone (210-1997, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Maltese center Samuel Deguara (230-1991) helped adding 19 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side Lithuanian center Mindaugas Kupsas (216-1991, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TB Herobears maintains fourth place with 12-10 record. It was an exceptional evening for Palestinian power forward Sani Sakakini (204-1988) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Anthony Tucker accounted for 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American Marlon Johnson (208-1994, college: NMHU) came up with 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for N.Taipei CTBC in the defeat. Suns have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-8 record having four points less than leader Kaohsiung A. N.Taipei CTBC at the other side dropped to the third position with nine games lost. Suns will play against Leopards (#5) in Taoyuan in the next round. N.Taipei CTBC will play at home against Leopards and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
