The most exciting game of round 11 in the DLBL took place in Jounieh. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd placed Al Markaziyyah (8-3) to sixth ranked Hoops (6-5) 85-82 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Markaziyyah. They outrebounded Al Markaziyyah 38-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Al Markaziyyah helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American Kedrian Johnson (190-1999, college: WVU) who scored 31 points and 4 steals. His fellow American import forward Trazarien White (198, college: TCU) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Hoops' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Donte McGill (190-1995, college: FIU) produced 28 points for the hosts. Hoops have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 6-5 record. Al Markaziyyah at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Beirut: Al Riyadi (#1) and Sagesse (#2). Al Riyadi (11-0) won against visiting Sagesse (9-2) 122-114. American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Amir Saoud contributed with 18 points and 12 assists for the winners. American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) answered with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists for Sagesse. Sagesse's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Al Riyadi. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record. Sagesse at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost.
Bottom-ranked Tadamon (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 106-77 loss to ninth ranked Beirut Club (4-7) in Beirut on Monday evening. It was a great evening for Tray Jackson who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. BJ Freeman responded with 29 points. Beirut Club maintains ninth place with 4-7 record. Tadamon lost their eleventh game in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost.
Other games of round 11 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
