Al Ittihad tabs Zach Lofton, ex Al Ahly C.

Al Ittihad Ahli of Aleppo (SBL) signed 32-year-old American 193cm guard Zach Lofton (college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) He last played for Al Ahly Cairo in the Egyptian Superleague, where he averaged an impressive 17.2ppg, 2.5rpg, and 4.5apg in 11 games. Despite finishing the regular season in second place, Lofton helped his team win the league title. He was voted to the Afrobasket.com All-Egyptian League Second Team, marking a successful year in his career. Lofton also had a stint with Mars (TPBL) in the Taiwanese league.
He is a very experienced player. Lofton has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eleven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). He has played professionally in Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), China (Liaoning Yi Sheng), Germany (Seawolves), Kuwait (Kazma), Lebanon (Al Riyadi, Sagesse, Homentmen and Dynamo), Philippines (Bolts), Taiwan, Libya (Al Ittihad Tripoli and Ahly Benghazi), NBA G League (Grand Rapids Gold), NBA Summer League (Milwaukee Bucks) and The Basketball Tournament (Panamaniacs).
Among many awards he received were the Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Player of the Year award and the Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Defensive Player of the Year award in 2025.
Lofton graduated from New Mexico State University in 2018 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges between Texas Southern University, University of Minnesota, Illinois State University, and San Jacinto College.
