DLBL Round 3 (Regular Season): Homentmen keep a leadership position

Homentmen defeated Beirut Club at home 104-99. Homentmen made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) who led his team to a victory with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Khalid Thomas (208-1999, college: Portland St.) contributed with 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard AJ English (192-1992, college: Iona) answered with 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists for Beirut Club. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Important game to mention about took place in Beirut. Al Markaziyyah (3-1) saved a 2-point derby victory on the road edging Beirut Club (1-3) 81-79 on Saturday evening. It was a great evening for American-Dominican forward Anyeuri Castillo (201-1997, college: USC Aiken) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Elios Saad helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Elijah Thomas (206-1996, college: Clemson) with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Al Markaziyyah will play against NSA (#6) in the next round. Beirut Club will have a break next round.
A very close game took place in Batroun between Hoops and Batroun. Hoops (1-2) got a very close victory on the road over Batroun (0-4). Hoops managed to escape with a 3-point win 70-67 on Friday evening. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for Trazarien White who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Anthony Fairley came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds for Batroun in the defeat. Batroun's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Hoops' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Al Riyadi.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 3: Maristes beat Tadamon on the road 89-83. Al Riyadi destroyed NSA on its own court 99-80. Antranik lost to undefeated Sagesse in Beirut 80-90. Homentmen managed to beat Antonine at home 113-107.
The most impressive performance of 3rd round was 38 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds by Tyler Bey of Homentmen.



Tadamon - Maristes 83-89

No shocking result in a game when Maristes (3-1) beat Tadamon (0-4) in Hrajel 89-83 on Thursday. Maristes looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Henry Sims (208-1990, college: Georgetown) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Stedmon Lemon (198-1992, college: JCSU) accounted for 25 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American Samuel Daniel (203-1996, college: Florida Tech) came up with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Georgian swingman Kakhaber Jintcharadze (196-1993, agency: BIG) added 22 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Tadamon in the defeat. Four Tadamon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maristes will meet at home NSA (#6) in the next round. Tadamon will play against Al Markaziyyah (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

A very close game took place in Batroun between Hoops and Batroun. Hoops (1-2) got a very close victory on the road over Batroun (0-4). Al Riyadi - NSA 99-80

Very expected game when NSA (2-2) was smashed by Al Riyadi (3-0) in Beirut 99-80 on Sunday. Al Riyadi made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 NSA turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Al Riyadi looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by NSA's players. It was an exceptional evening for American Maurice Kemp (203-1991, college: ECU) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). International guard Ali Mansour (185-1998) accounted for 8 points and 13 assists for the winning side. American guard Makye Richards (188, college: Xavier, LA) came up with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Torren Jones (206-1994, college: William Penn) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for NSA in the defeat. Five NSA players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Very predictable result when Sagesse (4-0) won against Antranik (1-3) in Beirut 90-80 on Sunday. Sagesse outrebounded Antranik 46-35 including 37 on the defensive glass. Sagesse looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Kenyan-Australian power forward Makur Maker (212-2000, college: Howard) accounted for 29 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. American Jeremiah Gambrell Jr (190-2000, college: Alcorn St., agency: 0z Sports Agency) came up with 32 points and 7 assists and the other American import forward Emmanuel Little (197-1999, college: Nicholls, agency: AltusBasket) added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Antranik in the defeat. Sagesse will meet Antonine (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Antranik will play against Batroun and hope to win that game.

Not a big story in a game when Antonine (1-3) lost to Homentmen (4-0) in Beirut 107-113 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Homentmen looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for forward Tyler Bey (201-1998, college: Colorado) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) accounted for 22 points, 8 rebounds and 17 assists for the winning side. Ricky Ledo (201-1992, college: Providence) came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Glenn Cosey (183-1992, college: EKU) added 23 points and 10 assists respectively for Antonine in the defeat. Five Homentmen and four Antonine players scored in double figures. Homentmen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Antonine will play against Sagesse (#2) and hope to win that game.
