Sagesse - Champville 102-59 The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Champville (2-1) in Beirut. Visitors were rolled over by Sagesse (3-0) 102-59. Sagesse dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Champville's 34 and made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Champville 43-23 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Cliff Alexander (203-1995, college: Kansas, agency: MSG) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import Kerwin Roach II (192-1996, college: Texas) accounted for 20 points and 4 assists for the winning side. The former international guard Jimmy Salem (190-1995) came up with 18 points and 4 assists and Canadian-Palestinian forward Shane Osayande (200-1993, college: Saskatchewan) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Champville in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Atlas (1-2) got a very close victory on the road over NSA (1-2). Atlas managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 in the fight for the seventh place. Atlas forced 20 NSA turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Myles Carter (185-1999, college: Delaware St.) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Guard George Yves-Daaboul (178-1995) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Anthony Fairley (203-1999, college: Miles) who recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and 23 rebounds and the former international swingman Nadim Souaid (192-1986) added 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. NSA's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dynamo dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Antranik's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Zach Lofton (193-1992, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Senegalese forward Ibrahima Thomas (213-1987, college: Cincinnati, agency: BIG) helped adding 22 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Omega Harris (190-1995, college: UTEP) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Keith Charleston (203-1995, college: SE Louisiana) scored 12 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Riyadi forced 22 Liders turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Qualls (197-1994, college: Arkansas) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203-1990, college: F&M) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Youssef Ghantous (191-1996) who recorded 17 points and American center Nicholas Evans (210-1988, college: S.Indiana) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Liders' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Al Riyadi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Hoops.
