Regular Season Round 3: Al Riyadi - Liders 91-65

There was an upset in Beirut where Liders (1-1) were crushed by Al Riyadi (1-0) 91-65 on Monday. Al Riyadi forced 22 Liders turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Qualls (197-1994, college: Arkansas) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203-1990, college: F&M) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Youssef Ghantous (191-1996) who recorded 17 points and American center Nicholas Evans (210-1988, college: S.Indiana) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Liders' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Al Riyadi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Hoops.
