Champville - Beirut Club 79-109 LBL top team - Beirut Club (17-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Champville (11-8) in Dik El Mehdi 109-79. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Champville. They outrebounded Champville 40-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Beirut Club shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Wael Arakji (194-1994) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203-1990, college: F&M) supported him with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Beirut Club's coach Ahmad Farran felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by the former international swingman Elias Rustom (197-1987) did not help to save the game for Champville. The former international forward Patrick Bou Abboud (199-1987) added 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beirut Club have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-2 record. Champville at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Antranik.
