Higher League Round 21: Bars defeat Qazaqstan in the closest game of the week- March 11, 2022
The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
ChelSU - Namys 56-79 8th ranked ChelSU (3-16) was outscored at home by ninth ranked Namys (4-16) with the biggest margin this round 79-56 on Friday night. Namys dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to ChelSU's 32. They outrebounded ChelSU 46-27 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Namys looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by ChelSU's players. The best player for the winners was guard Vladislav Isaenko (193-2004) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Aymergen Almakhun (185-2004) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Adilbek Bitenov (174-2001) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Sergey Kurbatov added 4 points and 7 rebounds respectively. ChelSU's coach Elena Kireeva gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Namys moved-up to eighth place. ChelSU lost their third game in a row. ChelSU at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with 16 games lost. Namys will meet at home league's leader Kazygurt in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ChelSU will play against Astana-2 (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Qazaqstan (17-3) to third ranked Bars (17-3) 63-60 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Qazaqstan. They outrebounded Qazaqstan 50-36 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bars looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-1994) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Stanislav Rovovoy (196-1992) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Temirlan Dzhunusov (192-1999) with 21 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Denis Degtyarev (198-1990) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Bars moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Qazaqstan. Bars is looking forward to face Barsy 2 (#4) in Atyrau in the next round. Qazaqstan will play on the road against Jambyl and is hoping to win this game. This time they beat fifth ranked Karaganda (12-8) 89-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Karaganda. They outrebounded Karaganda 50-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. Kazygurt players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-1992) nailed a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Anuar Shakirov (180-2000) accounted for 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Stanislav Sahipov (190-2002) came up with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Dias Kalymbetov (190-2004) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Karaganda in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kazygurt have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-1 record. Karaganda at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Kazygurt will play against Namys (#8) in Alma-Ata in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Karaganda will have a break next round. The best player for the winners was center Timur Tangiev (193-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Mahamtet Kazimov (194-2003) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Barsy 2 players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Denis Kotov (190-2002) who recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds and guard Amirali Suleimenov (190-2003) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Barsy 2 maintains fourth place with 13-6 record. Loser Irtysh keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Barsy 2 will meet at home league's second-placed Bars in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Irtysh will have a break next round.
