Regular Season Round 21: Qazaqstan - Bars 60-63

The most exciting game of round 21 in the Higher League took place in Alma-Ata. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Qazaqstan (17-3) to third ranked Bars (17-3) 63-60 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Qazaqstan. They outrebounded Qazaqstan 50-36 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bars looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-1994) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Stanislav Rovovoy (196-1992) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Temirlan Dzhunusov (192-1999) with 21 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Denis Degtyarev (198-1990) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Bars moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Qazaqstan. Bars is looking forward to face Barsy 2 (#4) in Atyrau in the next round. Qazaqstan will play on the road against Jambyl and is hoping to win this game.
