There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in WJBL. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Round 12 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Fujitsu RW (19-5). They were defeated by second ranked Denso I. (20-4) 64-52 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Maki Takada (185-1989) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 rebounds and guard Miku Takahashi (169-2001) who added 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international Kiho Miyashita (178-1998) with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Denso I. have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Fujitsu RW dropped to the second place with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Denso I.. Fujitsu RW will play next round against strong Chanson V-M trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Denso I. will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Toyota BSR in Aichi.

It was a key game for the top position in the league. The winners were led by the former international center Maki Takada (185-1989) who scored that evening 13 points and 5 rebounds and Evelyn Mawuli supported her with 13 points. Even a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds by Nigerian center Mfon Joshua (190-1999) did not help to save the game for Fujitsu RW. Fujitsu RW's coach BT Toews rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso I. have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Defending champion Fujitsu RW dropped to the second place with five games lost. Fujitsu RW will play next round against strong Chanson V-M trying to get back on the winning streak. Denso I. will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Toyota BSR at Aichi.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Chanson V-M (14-10) against seventh ranked Toyota A. (9-15) on Monday night. Visiting Chanson V-M was crushed by Toyota A. in Nagoya 77-45. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Chanson V-M. The best player for the winners was Shiori Yasuma who scored 24 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Izoje Uche who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota A. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Toyota BSR. Chanson V-M at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Toyota A. will meet bottom-ranked Hitachi Cougars (#8) in the next round. Chanson V-M will play against the league's second-placed Fujitsu RW (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 12: bottom-ranked Hitachi Cougars were destroyed by Aishin AW on the opponent's court 79-54. Toyota BSR managed to outperform Eneos S. in a home game 69-63. Bottom-ranked Hitachi Cougars managed to beat Aishin AW on the road 68-63. Toyota A. was defeated by Chanson V-M on its own court 72-77. Eneos S. was beaten by Toyota BSR in Aichi 83-75.

Denso I. - Fujitsu RW 64-52

Aishin AW - Hitachi Cougars 79-54

Rather expected game in Anjo where 8th ranked Hitachi Cougars (4-20) were crushed by fifth ranked Aishin AW (9-16) 79-54 on Saturday. Aishin AW looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aishin AW made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international Sakura Noguchi (181-2001) who scored 9 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Sayaka Okamoto (161-1991) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Ririka Okuyama (180-2000) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Yuki Nakano (181-1996) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Aishin AW went down to seventh position due to points difference. Hitachi Cougars at the other side stay dead last with 20 lost games. Aishin AW will meet higher ranked Eneos S. (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hitachi Cougars will play against Toyota A. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There was a small surprise in Aichi where seventh ranked Toyota BSR (9-15) defeated one of their biggest challengers Eneos S. (12-11) 69-63 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was center Jessica Wariebimo (188-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Miki Sasaka (178-1998) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Toyota BSR players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Kadysha Umezawa (190-1998) who recorded 12 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Saori Miyazaki (167-1995) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyota BSR moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Toyota A. Eneos S. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 11 games lost. Toyota BSR will meet league's leader Denso I. in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Eneos S. will play against Aishin AW and hope to secure a win.

There was a minor upset in Anjo where 5th ranked Aishin AW (9-16) was defeated by bottom-ranked Hitachi Cougars (4-20) 68-63 on Sunday. Hitachi Cougars looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Yuki Nakano (181-1996) who scored 16 points and 6 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Senegalese center Daramee Malem-Doi (187-1997) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Hitachi Cougars players scored in double figures. Hitachi Cougars' coach Hidenori Kashiwakura used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-1991) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Sakura Noguchi (181-2001) added 9 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively. Hitachi Cougars maintains eighth position with 4-20 record. Aishin AW at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 16 games lost. Hitachi Cougars will meet at home higher ranked Toyota A. Everything went according to plan in Nagoya where third ranked Chanson V-M (14-10) beat 7th ranked Toyota A. (9-15) 77-72 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Mai Yoshida (175-1998) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Kuke Haruka (166-1995) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Chanson V-M's coach Fumikazu Nakagawa used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Mai Yamamoto (163-1999) who recorded 17 points and 4 assists and Maika Miura (166-2001) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Chanson V-M have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 14-10 record having six points less than leader Denso I. Toyota A. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Toyota BSR. Chanson V-M will meet at home league's second-placed Fujitsu RW in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyota A. will play against Hitachi Cougars in Hitachinaka and hope to secure a win.
