Regular Season Round 12: Denso I. - Fujitsu RW 68-53

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Denso I. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Denso I. defeated top-ranked Fujitsu RW in Kariya 68-53. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The winners were led by the former international center Maki Takada (185-1989) who scored that evening 13 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-1995) supported her with 13 points. Even a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds by Nigerian center Mfon Joshua (190-1999) did not help to save the game for Fujitsu RW. The former international point guard Rui Machida (162-1993) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Fujitsu RW's coach BT Toews rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso I. have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Defending champion Fujitsu RW dropped to the second place with five games lost. Fujitsu RW will play next round against strong Chanson V-M trying to get back on the winning streak. Denso I. will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Toyota BSR at Aichi.
