It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in B1 League, but even now we can clearly see the difference between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The biggest surprise took place in Nagoya where host FE Nagoya (6-4) beat league's leader Osaka E. (9-3) 82-74 on Wednesday evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeremy Jones (201-1996, college: Gonzaga) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import forward Aaron Henry (198, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Italian-American forward Angelo Caloiaro (203-1989, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FE Nagoya moved-up to third place. Osaka E. at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Ryukyu GK and Tochigi Brex. They were replaced at the leadership position by Ryukyu GK. Osaka E. will play next round against strong Nagoya DD trying to make it back to the top of the standings. FE Nagoya will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Sea Horses M. in Kariya.
Fifth-ranked Yokohama BC (5-7) made lots of trouble for second ranked San-en NP (10-2) in Hamamatsu. San-en NP managed to secure only one-point victory 94-93. However their fans expected easier game. It was a good game for American forward Yante Maten (201-1996, college: Georgia) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Coty Clarke contributed with 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. International guard Yuki Kawamura (172-2001) replied with 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists for Yokohama BC. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. San-en NP keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kawasaki BT. (#8) in Mito in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Yokohama BC will play on the road against Hitachi SRT in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
