Regular Season Round 12: Nagoya DD - Nagasaki 101-97

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Nagasaki (8-4) against fifth ranked Nagoya DD (9-5) on Wednesday night. Visiting Nagasaki was defeated by Nagoya DD in a tough game in Nagoya 97-101. Nagoya DD outrebounded Nagasaki 40-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Robert Franks (201-1996, college: WSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) who added 18 points and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was international Yudai Baba (196-1995) with 28 points and 4 assists and American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Nagoya DD moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Nagasaki dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Shimane SM. Nagoya DD will meet at home league's second-placed Osaka E. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nagasaki will play against Sendai 89ers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
