The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Kawasaki BT (40-20) in Kanagawa on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Hitachi SRT (28-32) 88-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kawasaki BT. Hitachi SRT looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke) stepped up and scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward James McAdoo (206-1993, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for Ryukyu GK in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hiroshima D. maintains fourth place with 41-18 record. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top position with 12 games lost. They share it with Shimane SM.
A very close game took place in Tochigi between Tochigi Brex and Chiba Jets. Third ranked Tochigi Brex (31-28) got a very close home victory over leader Chiba Jets (53-7). Tochigi Brex managed to escape with a 2-point win 82-80 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Chiba Jets. Grant Jerrett fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Victor Law produced 25 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains third place with 31-28 record having ten points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Chiba Jets still keep top position with seven games lost.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 61: Hokkaido L. lost to Akita NH on the opponent's court 92-102. Alvark Tokyo unfortunately lost to Nagoya DD in a home game 63-73. Shiga L-Stars recorded a loss to Kyoto H. on the road 69-85. FE Nagoya were defeated by Shimane SM on its own court 64-77. Shinshu BW smashed Niigata A. in Nagano 94-72. Osaka E. won against Ibaraki R. at home 95-81. San-en NP managed to outperform Sea Horses M. on the opponent's court 86-78. Sendai 89ers managed to beat Gunma CT in a home game 84-67. Toyama G. defeated Yokohama BC on the road 84-81.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists by Devin Oliver of Yokohama BC.




Akita NH - Hokkaido L. 102-92

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Hokkaido L. (19-41) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Akita NH (29-30) 102-92 on Sunday. Akita NH shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Point guard Sota Oura (182-1997) fired 22 points and 6 assists for the winners. American center Steve Zack (211-1992, college: La Salle) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU) produced 25 points and the former international guard Ryoma Hashimoto (178-1988) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Akita NH moved-up to fourth place.
