Shizuoka - Toyoda 116-68

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Toyoda (7-35) was outplayed on the road by fourth ranked Shizuoka (28-9) 116-68 on Sunday. Shizuoka dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Toyoda's 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American center Ryan Stephan (208-1994, college: CMU) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-1996, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Shizuoka players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Jalen Billups (200-1992, college: NKU, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Tucker Haymond (198-1994, college: W.Michigan) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Shizuoka. They maintain fourth place with 28-9 record. Toyoda lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 35 games lost. Shizuoka will meet Iwate (#6) on the road in the next round. Toyoda will play against Gifu (#10) and hope to secure a win.
