Regular Season Round 49: Yokohama EX - Chiba 87-81

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Chiba (30-5) against eleventh ranked Yokohama EX (13-27) on Tuesday night. Visiting Chiba was defeated by Yokohama EX in a tough game in Tokyo 81-87. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Chiba. Yokohama EX made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Strangely Chiba outrebounded Yokohama EX 47-28 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian forward Mamadou Gueye (201-1993, college: Alberta) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Yutaka Tsukamoto (177-1997) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Yokohama EX players scored in double figures. American forward Robert Dozier (206-1985, college: Memphis) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) added 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Chiba. Yokohama EX maintains eleventh place with 13-27 record. Newly promoted Chiba keeps the second position with five games lost. Yokohama EX's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo HT.
