Shannon Shorter
Chiba Jets have agreed on terms of contract with Shannon Shorter (193-G-89, college: N.Texas). The guard will finish the season in Israel currently signing with Hapoel Eilat. He moved there from PAOK Thessaloniki in Greek A1 league where he played this season. In 8 games he averaged impressive 16.9ppg, 4.1rpg and 3.1apg. Shorter also played 5 games in Basketball Champions League where he had very remarkable stats: 15.2ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.6apg. The other team he played that season for was ET Land Elephants (KBL) in South Korean league. In 18 A1 games he recorded 14.8ppg, 3.7rpg and 2.3apg. Good season as he was selected League Player of the Week.
Shorter is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eleven different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). Shorter has played previously professionally in Argentina (La Union), Australia (Adelaide 36ers), China (Hebei Xianglan), France (Le Mans), Japan (Dragonflies), Lebanon (Al Riyadi), Mexico (Ostioneros de Guaymas, Guerreros and Gansos), Turkey (TED Ankara), South Korea (Mobis Phoebus), Israel (Hapoel Kfar Saba and Afula) and The Basketball Tournament (Tri-State Titans and Aftershocks). He received also Asia-Basket.com All-Korean KBL Honorable Mention award in 2020.
Shorter won Korean KBL championship title in 2019.
He attended University of North Texas until 2012 and it is his eighth season in pro basketball.
