Qatari Basketball Federation Announces Addition of Brandon Goodwin to National Team Roster

DOHA, Qatar – August 3, 2025

The Qatari Basketball Federation has announced the inclusion of American player Brandon Goodwin, 28, to the Qatar senior national basketball team. This strategic move aims to bolster the squad as it prepares for the 31st edition of the FIBA Asia Cup, scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 5 to 17, 2025, featuring 16 competing Asian nations.

Born on October 2, 1995, in Norcross, Georgia, USA, Goodwin stands at 1.88 meters and plays as a shooting guard/point guard. He began his collegiate career at the University of Central Florida (UCF) before transferring to Florida Gulf Coast University, where he excelled and was named ASUN Conference Player of the Year in 2018.

Goodwin brings a wealth of professional experience, having competed in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks. His participation in numerous international competitions adds significant technical value, which is expected to support Qatar's national team ambitions.
