Guam, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia book FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers berth - Dec 1, 2018

Guam - Malaysia 101-78
Guam outgunned Malaysia to finish with the perfect record in the EABC Pre-Qualifiers. Earnest Ross (196-G-91, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) delivered 33 points to lead the winners. Guam posted a 57:35 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Jesus Cruz (196-G-98) added 16 points for the winners. Zi Feung Chang (194-C-97) replied with 20 points for Malaysia.

Indonesia - Thailand 71-65
Indonesia held off Thailand as both teams made it into FIBA Asia Cup Qualifying Round. Arki Wisnu (187-SF-88) knocked down 17 points to lead the charge. Thailand grabbed a 39:35 halftime lead. Indonesia stormed ahead to ensure a 3-point lead at the final break. They held Thailand to just 15 points in the fourth quarter and raced to the victory. Andakara Dhyaksa (173-PG-92) had 14 points in the win. Moses Morgan (198-SF-92, college: CS Fullerton) replied with 35 points for Thailand.

Singapore - Macau 96-93
Singapore topped Macau in the final game at the EABC Pre-Qualifiers for both sides. Six players scored in double digits for the winners. Qing Toh (183-G-95) accounted for 17 points for the winners. Singapore accumulated a 48:44 halftime lead. Macau dropped 35 points in the third term to spur ahead. But Singapore used a 21:14 rally in the final period to seal the win. Larry Hua Liew (191-G-93) dropped 15 points and 9 boards for the winners. Hip Meng Lo (185-SF-93) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Macau.


Guam Men off to great start at the 2018 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifier - Nov 26, 2018

In a game that was live-streamed on FIBA.basketball, the Guam Men's National Basketball defeated Team Fiji last night 93-55 in their opening game at the FIBA Asia 2012 Cup Qualifier in Bangkok Thailand. Guam was just too fast and too strong for their fellow neighboring rivals, blasting away for 29 fastbreak points. Coach EJ Calvo never slowed down his team and the lead kept on building to its peak at 40 points midway in the final quarter. Daren Hechanova was the speed force for Guam with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and a mindblowing 8 steals. When Hechanova was running in the open court, Earnest Ross (196-G-91, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) was dropping jumpers for 19 points (led team) and Curtis Washington was dominating the paint down low (16 points, 8 rebounds). Guam next game is today against Team Singapore at 830pm Guam time.

SABA Pre-Qualifiers: Sri Lanka and Bangladesh clinch next round berth - Jun 30, 2018

SABA
Sri Lanka - Bhutan 71-60
Sri Lanka defeated Bhutan to finish the SABA Pre-Qualifiers on top of the ladder and advanced into the next round. Praneeth Udumalagala (188-G-93) scored 19 points to lead the winners. Sri Lanka recorded a 39:12 halftime lead. Bhutan used a massive 32:14 rally in the fourth frame but came up short of win at the end. Isuru Prabath (192-G/F-95) nailed 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for Sri Lanka. Dorji Rinchen (88), Jigme Yonten (92) and Kesang Phuntsho (86) answered with 15 points each for Bhutan.

Bangladesh - Maldives 74-57
Bangladesh overcame Maldives to earn the second position and clinch qualification into the next round of Qualifying Event. Tareq Aziz (185-G-93) posted 18 points to lead the winners. Bangladesh claimed a 36:22 halftime lead. They stretched the gap at 19-point mark at the final break and never looked back en route to the win. Shamsuzzaman Khan (183-PG-94) had 14 points for the winners. Ahmed Husham (178-PG-89) answered with 15 points for Maldives.
