Mongolia- Japan 79-89

Japan overcame Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. Japan finished Group C with a 5-1 record, whilst Mongolia ended up with a 1-5 record. Japan was the favorites of the game, however Mongolia struggled hard. The latter trailed 2 points at the halftime, whilst Japan pushed the tempo at the end to seal the win.
Alex Kirk (211-C-1991, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up with 24 points and 17 rebounds, whilst Kai Toews (188-G-1998, college: UNCW) collected 23 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Margad Erdenetsetseg (2004) replied with 14 points in a loss and Altangerel Azbayar (202-F-2005) brought 13.
