Syria celebrated first win in Dubai at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. They edged UAE 78-63 to improve to a 1-1 record. The hosts opened the game with a narrow 17-16 lead, whilst the second quarter was decisive in the game as Syria posted a 26-11 surge. Moreover, the guests won the third period 15-12, whilst UAE closed the game with a 23-21 run.
Javion Blake (191-G-1997, college: Washburn, agency: Haylett Sports) top-scored for the winners with 19 points, Nadim Issa (185-G-1990) notched 18, whilst Majd Arbasha (180-G-1990) had 16. Qais Alshabebi (200-C-1991) ended up with 14 points in the losing effort.
