Japan overcame China in thriller at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. Japan rewrote the history books as they finally beat China 76-73.
Both teams exchanged the narrow wins in the first half as the board showed 38-38 at the halftime. Japan won the third quarter 17-13 and Josh Hawkinson (208-F-1995, college: WSU) made them pay through a dunk to make it a 75-70 count later in the fourth.
Yudai Baba (196-SF-1995) stepped up with 24 points and Josh Hawkinson notched 14. Jinqiu Hu (211-C-1997) produced 23 points in a loss and Mingxuan Hu (191-PG-1998) netted 20.
