Thailand registered the first win at the FIBA Asia Cup in Division B. They rallied past Kazakhstan to improve at 1-1 record. Rattiyakorn Udomsuk (174-G/F-1999) scored 22 points to lead the winners.
Thailand piled up a 42-31 halftime lead. They held Kazakhstan to 20 points in the second half and marched to a well-deserved win at the end. Thunchanok Lumdappang (176-C-1999) and Kanokwan Prajuapsook (177-C-1998) had 17 points each for the winners. Anna Bezgodova (192-C-1992) replied with 13 points and 14 rebounds for Kazakhstan.
