China - Japan 73:71

China overcame Japan 73-71 in an epic Final of the FIBA Women's Asia Cup. Both teams nailed 17 points each in the first period, whilst Japan took a 9-point halftime advantage. China needed a 22-16 rally in the third quarter as Meng Li (185-SG-1995) and Anri Hoshi exchanged the baskets for 49-48, whilst Mai Yamamoto (163-PG-1999) kept Japan in front at 51-48 with 10 minutes to go. Xu Han (206-C-1999) later gave China 68-66 lead and Siyu Wang (175-G-1995) scored two free throws for 5-point lead. Maki Takada (185-C-1989) made a jump shot for 71-68 but Meng Li ensured the victory for China.
Xu Han top-scored for the winners with 26 points, whilst Meng Li and Siyu Wang had 17 each. Maki Takada replied with 17 points in a loss, whilst Saki Hayashi (173-G-1995) produced 12.
