The former international guard Minghui Sun (187-1996) contributed with 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. American guard Quinndary Weatherspoon (190-1996, college: MSU) answered with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists for Qingdao E.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-3 record. Qingdao E. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Bottom-ranked Blue Whales is still unable to win any game. Loongs' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Beijing D. maintains fifth place with 13-7 record, which they share with Shenzhen L. Shanxi L. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Beijing D. will meet Tianjin P. (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shanxi L. will play against Zhejiang GB. (#8) in Hangzhou and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 23: Jilin NE T. was beaten by Beijing on the road 87-84. Guangdong ST won against Tianjin P. on its own court 98-89. Xinjiang unfortunately lost to Nanjing in Jiangsu 97-98. Shandong H. rolled over Ningbo R. at home 99-75. Guangzhou was defeated by Shanghai on the opponent's court 95-78. Shenzhen L. smashed Fujian S. in a home game 106-77. Jiangsu D. was destroyed by Zhejiang GB. on the road 89-69.

Beijing RF - Jilin NE T. 87-84

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifteenth ranked Royal Fighters (9-11) edged 14th ranked Jilin Tigers (8-13) in Beijing 87-84 on Monday. Beijing dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Jilin Tigers's 34. Beijing looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international power forward Yuchen Zou (206-1996) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds.
