Very expected game when 17th rankedPioneers (6-14) lost to third ranked Guandong Tigers (17-4) in Dongguan 89-98 on Monday. Guangdong ST forced 19 Tianjin P. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Edmond Sumner (198-1995, college: Xavier) who led the winners and scored 39 points (!!!) and 6 assists (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). His fellow American import center Jared Sullinger (206-1992, college: Ohio St.) accounted for 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers' coach Feng-Du Du used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Zeyu Gu (185-1997) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists and American forward Scottie James Jr (202-1996, college: Liberty, agency: Pensack Sports) added 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Tianjin P. in the defeat. Guandong Tigers have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Guangdong ST moved-up to second place. Tianjin P. lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Nanjing.
