Iran conquer title in Tehran

Iran - Japan 71-65
Iran have been crowned champions in Tehran. The hosts beat Japan in the championship game tonight. Mostafa Rezaei (197-F-98) recorded 18 points to lead the winners. Iran secured a comfortable 35:26 halftime lead. The hosts stretched the lead in the third term. They established a 12-point lead heading into the fourth frame. Japan stepped on the gas in the fourth quarter. They drilled 25 points but came up short at the end. Mohammad Jafari (190-G-98) provided 16 points for the winners. Ehsan Samad (192-G/F-98) contributed 13 points for the champions. Keisuke Masuda (98) responded with 35 points and 9 rebounds for Japan.
3-4 Place
Lebanon - South Korea 63-86
South Korea claimed the Bronze medals in Iran. They stunned Lebanon in the consolation final to step onto the pedestal. Yang Jae Min (198-F/C-99) posted 26 points and 8 rebounds to lead the winners. South Korea built a 40:28 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 20-point mark at the final intermission. South Korea stayed dominant throughout the fourth frame and raced to the win. Park Jiwon (98) had 17 points for the winners. Karim Zeinoun (188-F-99) responded with 19 points and 10 rebounds for Lebanon.

5-6 Place
China - Taiwan 76-70
China earned the fifth position at the tournament. They wrapped up their campaign with a narrow win over Taiwan. Fan Ziming (211-C-98) scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the winners. Taiwan fired 28 points in the second quarter to take a 42:39 halftime lead. But China picked up the tempo in the second half. They held Taiwan to just 28 points and raced to the victory. Man Jiang (99) provided 14 points in the win. Chou Kuei-Yu (98) responded with 17 points for Taiwan.

7-8 Place
Philippines - India 67-64
Philippines nipped India in the final game in Tehran. Jose Lorenzo Mendoza (175-PG-98) nailed 15 points to lead the winners. Philippines accumulated a 26:14 lead after the first period. India pulled within three points at the final break. But Philippines hung on to the advantage and sealed the winning outcome at the end. Fran Yu (173-PG-98) had 14 points for the winners. Vishal Gupta responded with 20 points and 11 rebounds for India.
