Australia - New Zealand 72-63
Australia clinched the title in Nonthaburi. They beat New Zealand in the championship game tonight. Kody Stattmann (194-F/G-00) posted 17 points to lead the Emus. Australia dominated in the first period. They recorded a 26:11 lead at the first break. New Zealand narrowed the deficit in the next two periods. They entered the final stanza trailing by 6 points. But Australia held their opponents to just 13 points in the fourth quarter and raced to the trophy. Kyle Bowen (200-F-00) had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the champions. Maxwell Darling (196-F-00) replied with 20 points for New Zealand.
3-4 Place
China - Philippines 76-57
China stepped onto the pedestal in Nonthaburi. They fired past Philippines to celebrate Bronze medals. Michael Wang (208-F-00) stepped up with 27 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. China posted a 43:26 halftime lead. They held Philippines to 31 points in the second half and rallied to the victory. Jie Xu (177-G-00) finished with 18 points for the winners. Kai Sotto (216-C-02) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds for Philippines.

5-6 Place
Iran - Japan 58-60
Japan nipped Iran to earn the fifth position. Japan got to a strong start building an 18:9 lead after ten minutes. Iran cut the distance at 3-point mark before the fourth frame. They held Japan to 15 points in the final period but came up short of win at the end. Yuki Kawamura (169-G-01) had 18 points, while Takuto Nakamura (182-G-01) chipped in 12 points for the winners. Amirhossein Rezaeifar (196-F-00) and Mohammadreza Taghilou (192-SG-00) provided 10 points each for Iran.

7-8 Place
South Korea - Bahrain 93-100
Bahrain finished the tournament on a high note. They outscored South Korea to claim the 7th position. Bahrain accounted for a 50:46 halftime lead. South Korea dropped 27 points in the third term to spur ahead. But Bahrain answered with a 29-point effort in the final quarter to ensure the winning outcome. Mustafa Rashed (177-PG-02) topscored with 33 points for Bahrain. Ali Kadhem (185-G-00) had 15 points for the winners. Jun-Seok Yeo answered with 23 points for South Korea.



Australia and New Zealand to clash for title in Nonthaburi - Aug 10, 2018

New Zealand - China 87-82
New Zealand will play in the Final after they edged China today. Maxwell Darling (196-F-00) came up with 24 points and 7 rebounds to pace the Kiwis. New Zealand eked out a 41:39 halftime lead. China narrowed the distance at just one point heading into the fourth term 61:60. But New Zealand unloaded 26 points in the final quarter and snatched a tough win at the end. Kruz Perrott-Hunt (190-F-00) delivered 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Haowen Guo (201-F-00) replied with 25 points for China.

Philippines - Australia 43-77
Australia fired past Philippines in the semifinal clash today. Samson Froling (210-F/C-00) tallied 12 points and 7 rebounds to lead the Aussies. The Emus grabbed a 44:20 halftime lead. They held Philippines to just 23 points in the second half and rallied to the win. Kody Stattmann (194-F/G-00) and Callum Dalton (204-C-00) had 10 points each for the winners. Ariel Edu (210-C-00) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds for Philippines.
5-8 Place
Bahrain - Japan 85-92 OT
Japan survived an overtime marathon to tame Bahrain in the classification round. Keisei Tominaga (180-G-01) tallied 33 points to lead the charge. Bahrain led throughout the first three quarters. They entered the fourth period up by 14 points. But Japan sank 29 points to force overtime. They added 17 points in the extra period and sealed the win. Keijiro Mitani (189-F-01) had 22 points in the victory. Mustafa Rashed (177-PG-02) replied with 29 points for Bahrain.

Iran - South Korea 89-81
Iran rolled past South Korea to bounce back from the quarterfinal loss. Iran grabbed a 22:11 lead after ten minutes. They went on a 31:17 run in the third term to take a 12-point lead at the final intermission. South Korea sank 23 points in the fourth quarter but could not avert the defeat. Amirhossein Rezaeifar (196-F-00) produced 27 points and 15 rebounds, while Ehsan Dalirzahan (186-G-00) had 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Hyunjung Lee (192-F-00) replied with 24 points, 9 assists and 9 rebounds for South Korea.

Australia cruised past Japan to advance into the semifinal stage in Nonthaburi. Kyle Bowen (200-F-00) provided 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Emus. Australia recorded a 42:27 halftime lead. Australia then ignited a 25:11 run in the final period to rally to the victory. Samson Froling (210-F/C-00) had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Emus. Keisei Tominaga (180-G-01) scored 16 points for Japan.

South Korea - China 85-90
China eked out a narrow win over South Korea in the quarterfinal clash tonight. Haowen Guo (201-F-00) tallied 33 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge. China posted a 42:27 halftime lead. South Korea responded with a strong 38:21 rally in the third term to surge ahead. However China sank 27 points in the fourth term and eked out victory. Michael Wang (208-F-00) had 20 points, 23 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Hyunjung Lee (192-F-00) replied with 33 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for South Korea.

Iran - New Zealand 72-87
New Zealand upset Iran to become the first semifinalists in Nonthaburi. James Moors (204-F/C-00) stepped up with 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead the winners. New Zealand posted a 21:14 lead ten minutes into the game. They went on a 25:15 rally in the third term to open a 13-point lead. The Kiwis sank 24 points in the fourth quarter and raced to the victory. Kruz Perrott-Hunt (190-F-00) delivered 18 points in the win. Behshad Arabzadeh (195-G-00) replied with 19 points for Iran.

Philippines - Bahrain 67-52
Philippines held off Bahrain to advance into the semifinal stage. Kai Sotto (216-C-02) scored 21 points and collected 10 rebounds in the victory. Bahrain went on a 23:6 rally in the second period to ensure a 34:26 halftime lead. But Philippines replied with a strong 41:18 second half run to secure the winning outcome. Taiwan - Bahrain 65-76
Bahrain edged Taiwan to enter the quarterfinal stage in Nonthaburi. Mustafa Rashed (177-PG-02) and Baqer Ali produced 23 points each for the winners. Bahrain accumulated a 26:16 lead after ten minutes. Taiwan narrowed the distance in the second term and eventually surged ahead for a 39:35 halftime lead. But Bahrain responded with a strong 20:3 rally in the third term to regain the advantage. They protected the lead throughout the final period and rallied to the win. Yan-Ting Lin answered with 19 points for Taiwan.

China - Indonesia 102-45
China advanced into the quarterfinal stage as they stormed past Indonesia. Haonan Chen (195-F/G-00) posted 18 points to lead the winners. China accumulated a 57:19 halftime lead. Japan - Lebanon 85-67
Japan outscored Lebanon behind 28 points from Keisei Tominaga (180-G-01). Lebanon posted a 22:11 lead after ten minutes. But Japan went on a 29:15 run to take a 40:37 halftime lead. Japan then used a 26:13 run in the third frame to build a comfortable 16-point lead. Japan maintained the advantage throughout the fourth period and raced to the win. Iran - Japan 71-64

Lebanon - United Arab Emirates 84-57

China - Philippines 63-73
Philippines knocked down China to gain the third straight victory in Group B. Sean Ildefonso (183-F-00) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds in the win. Philippines accumulated a 31:27 halftime lead. They followed with a 23:12 run in the third term to clear off for good. Ariel Edu had 13 points and 14 rebounds for Philippines. Haowen Guo (201-F-00) tossed in 24 points for China.

Australia - New Zealand 111-62
Five players scored in double figures as Australia cruised past New Zealand. The Emus recorded a 49:27 halftime lead. But Bahrain poured in 76 points in the next three periods to race to the win. Muzamil Hamoda (198-G-02) notched 14 points for Bahrain. South Korea registered the third win in a row. They beat Taiwan to stay perfect. Hyunjung Lee (192-F-00) chipped in 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. South Korea established a 46:41 halftime lead. They ignited a 26:16 run in the third frame to record a 15-point lead and protected the lead throughout the fourth quarter. Jun-Seok Yeo dropped 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the winners. Ma Chien-Hao (197-C-01) had 25 points for Taiwan.

Indonesia - Japan 53-86
Japan marched past Indonesia to stay perfect in Nonthaburi. Keisei Tominaga (180-G-01) netted 17 points to lead the charge. Japan secured a 40:22 halftime lead. New Zealand beat hosting Thailand to remain undefeated at the tournament. Samuel Mennenga (204-SF-01) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Kiwis.
