Libyan National Team lands Tony Mitchell for the All Arab Nations Cup

The Libyan National Team has acquired Tony Mitchell, a 34-year-old American swingman who stands at 198cm tall.

Mitchell, who played college basketball at Alabama, previously played for the Beirut Club in the Lebanese LBL league. In his six games with the team, he averaged 12.7 points per game, 4.7 rpg, 2.7 apg, and 1.5 spg.
Part of last season, he spent at Bahrain Club in the Premier League of the Bahrain league. He also played for another Bahrain team, Al-Muharraq, in the Premier League of the Bahrain league.

He attempted to reach the NBA and participated in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
He was a member of the USA Under 18 National Team in 2010.

He has played professionally in seventeen different countries on six different continents, thanks to his experience in pro basketball. He has played in Argentina (Penarol), Australia (Cairns Taipans), Bahrain, China (Hebei and Chongqing), Israel (Hapoel Eilat), Italy (Cantu, Pistoia, and Sassari), Morocco (AS Sale), Philippines, Puerto Rico (Cariduros and Indios), Russia, Spain (Estudiantes), Taiwan (TB Herobears), Uruguay (Aguada), Venezuela (Trotamundos), NBA (Miami Heat), and Dominican Republic (Soles). He is familiar with leagues in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, Africa, and North America.

In 2022, his team reached the Dominican Republic LNB Semifinals. He was voted to the Latinbasket.com Puerto Rican BSN All-Imports Team in 2017.

He graduated from the University of Alabama in 2012, and this is his 12th season in professional basketball.
