Mighty Sports stays perfect by crushing Japan

Mighty Sports cruised to its third consecutive victory in the 2019 William Jones Cup after demolishing Japan, 94-59, on Sunday in Taiwan. Mighty Sports used a big second quarter that saw them limit Japan to just 9 points to pull away, and poured it on with a 31-point third quarter. Renaldo Balkman (203-F-84, college: S.Carolina, agency: Aspire Sports) spearheaded Mighty Sports' charge with a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Eugene Phelps (198-F-90, college: LBSU) had 19 points and Mikey Williams contributed 17 markers. Mighty Sports shot 51.5% from the field, while limiting Japan to just 29.3% shooting. The Japanese took a whopping 32 three-pointers, and made just five of them. Mighty Sports had earlier beaten Iran, 98-72, and Jordan, 90-74. They return to action on Monday afternoon against Canada.
