Japan wrapped up their William Jones Cup campaign with victory. They
cruised past India to clinch the second position in the ladder at 3-1
record.
Rina Tomizaki (180-F/C-88) and
Mutya Mori (181-C-88) stepped up with 15 points each to pace the
effort. India fell at 1-3 record and occupied the fourth place at the
tournament.
Japan erupted for 31 points in the starting frame to clear off. They
dominated in the second period. Japan outgunned their opponents 21:10 to

Taiwan finished their William Jones Cup campaign on a high note. They
breezed past South Korea for the fourth straight win.
Chiang Feng-Chun (184-F-81) scored 16 points to pace the hosts.
South Korea in the meantime suffered the fourth consecutive defeat to
remain at the bottom of the ladder.
Taiwan and South Korea stayed close in the opening quarter. The home
team eked out a narrow 17:14 lead after ten minutes of action. South
Korea stayed within striking distance throughout the second frame. They
trailed by just three points at the interval 28:31. But things changed
drastically in the third period. Taiwan shifted the gear and unloaded 26
points in the third term. They piled up a comfortable 57:37 lead with
one quarter to go. South Korea never recovered suffering yet another
loss at the tournament at the end.

Taiwan - Taiwan University NT 77:59 Taiwan recorded the third straight win at the William Jones
Cup. They overcame Taiwanese University National Team to claim the title
at the tournament.
Chiang Feng-Chun (184-F-81) stepped up with 26 points to lead the
effort. University National Team slipped at 2-2 record after the loss.
The teams stayed close throughout the opening quarter. Taiwan recorded a
narrow 24:23 lead after ten minutes. They stiffened defence in the
second period. Taiwan secured a 38:34 halftime advantage. Taiwan cleared
off in the third term. They limited the University National Team to just
12 points in the period to take a 14-point lead with one quarter
remaining. University National Team never recovered in the fourth term
as Taiwan cruised to the victory.

assists for the winners.

Japan registered the second straight win at the William Jones Cup. They
held off South Korea for 2-1 record in the ladder.

the tournament.
Japan dominated in the starting quarter. They posted a 17:12 lead ten
minutes into the game. South Korea bounced back in the second term. They
surged ahead for a 33:30 halftime advantage. Roller-coaster action
continued in the third term as Japan answered with a stifling defence
limiting South Korea to just 6 points. Japan entered the fourth term up
by 3 points. They hung on for the victory in tough dying minutes.

India celebrated the first win at the William Jones Cup in Taiwan. They
overcame South Korea to improve at 1-2 record.
Anitha Pauldurai (170-G-85) stepped up with 24 points, 8 rebounds
and 3 assists to lead the effort. South Korea fell at 0-2 record after
the defeat.
South Korea looked the better team in the opening quarter. They earned a
17:9 lead at the first intermission. The teams traded baskets throughout
the second quarter. South Korea established a 32:24 halftime advantage.
But India turned things upside down in the third quarter. They erupted

the lead throughout the second quarter. The visitors arrived at halftime
up by six points 32:26. Japan stayed aggressive in the third quarter.
They fired 21 points in the period posting a 13-point lead with ten
minutes remaining. Taiwan could not recover in the final stanza as Japan
rolled to the victory at the end.

rebounds to lead the effort. India fell at 0-2 record after the defeat.
Taiwan started the game aggressively and ensured a 20:12 lead after ten

tournament campaign. They held off Japan for the initial win.
