Pierre Jackson gets MVP of the Week award for West Asia Super League

Experienced American Pierre Jackson (180-G-1991, agency: Slash Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Sagesse - Al Hekmeh Beirut and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 32-year old guard had the game-high 39 points adding three assists for Sagesse in his team's victory, helping them to beat Al Naft (#4, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 90-78. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Sagesse is placed at 2nd position in West Asia Super League. Sagesse is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Jackson had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Sagesse's top player in his first season with the team. Baylor University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jackson is league's best scorer averaging so far 39.0ppg. Jackson is in league's top in and averages solid 83.3% FGP and 45.5% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young German Mohamad Atli (203-C/F-1995) of Al Ittihad Ahli of Aleppo. Atli impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Ittihad lost that game 70-121 to Gorgan (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Atli is a newcomer at Al Ittihad and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Will Cherry (185-PG-1991) of top-ranked Shahrdari Gorgan. Cherry got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He was a key player of Gorgan, leading his team to a 121-70 easy win against #3 ranked Al Ittihad in a game of the week. Gorgan has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Cherry also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Cherry has a great season in West Asia Super League. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.0ppg (5th best).
