Syria registered a comfortable win over Uzbekistan at Asian Championship classification round. Syria will now take on UAE for the ninth overall position in the ladder. Uzbekistan will take on Malaysia. Joseph Abboud (189-G-89) stepped up with 13 points to lead well-balanced effort from Syria.
Syria strongly entered the game. They posted a 21:11 lead after ten minutes. The gap kept on growing in the second term. Syria established a comfortable 46:32 lead at the interval. Syria never slowed down after the big break. They registered a 70:47 advantage at the final intermission. Uzbekistan never came back to life as Syria marched to the victory at the end. Abd Al Wahab Hamowi (217-C-90) delivered 12 points, while Nour Al Saman (189-G-78) posted 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Aleksandr Kozlov (201-F-82) answered with 14 points for Uzbekistan. Hurmatjon Nuraliev (202-F-81) netted 13 points in the losing effort.
