Wave - Devil Rays 96-93 This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Devil Rays (5-4) to second ranked Wave (7-2) 96-93 on Sunday evening. Wave had a 43-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was British center Morakinyo Williams (209-1988, college: Citadel) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds. American center Raymond Miller (204-1988, college: CS Fullerton, agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 22 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Toby Sathitsumpan (182-2001) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and Tew Fra added 20 points and 20 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Wave have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Wave maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Tigers. Defending champion Devil Rays keep the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Pythons. T-REX dominated down low during the game scoring 110 of its points in the paint compared to Mammoth's 58. T-REX forced 26 Mammoth turnovers and outrebounded them 60-40 including a 40-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists. Filipino point guard Jeff Dumelod Viernes (172-1989) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals for the winners and American Tevis Robinson (198-1995, college: JWU, FL) chipped in 38 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 5 blocks. Robinson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Coach B. Gabiola's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Nara Djaruwat (193) with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Cholasit Kitbumroong (-2000) scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. T-REX have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with SWU. Mammoth lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. First ranked Tigers faced 3rd placed SWU. Host Tigers (8-1) smashed guests from (6-3) 118-92. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SWU. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to SWU's 58. Tigers forced 25 SWU turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 37 assists. It was a good game for Nattapat Biasumrit who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Takamin Sirijariyaporn (181-1997) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 8 steals for the winners. Tigers' coach Chakrapan Chuithaisong felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ukrainian swingman Sergii Pryimak (204-1996, agency: BIG) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 23 rebounds and 4 assists and Ukrainian-Bulgarian guard Vladislav Ungurian (190-1995, agency: Dreamer Sports Agency) added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for SWU. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Kings' 20. Pythons forced 23 Kings turnovers and outrebounded them 44-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pythons made 7 blocks. Singapore point guard Zhong Han Wong (183-1997) stepped up and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American guard Brian Garrett (193, college: CS Monterey) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Garrett is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Pythons players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Justin Nixon (196, college: Capital) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Panurat Chutsiriyingyong (192) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pythons moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Devil Rays. Kings at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with nine games lost.
