Banvas sign Nyang Wen

Banvas Slammers (BTL) signed Nyang Wek, a 30-year-old South Sudanese ex-international 203cm forward. He is the second import player on the team, with USA's Jarron Crump already on the roster. Wek moved to Banvas Slammers from Ads Sentinels (TBL) in the U.S., where he began the season. In 13 TBL games he recently played, he averaged 12.8ppg, 7.3rpg, and 1.5apg. Wek was part of the South Sudanese Senior National Team between 2020 and 2024.
He is a very experienced player. Wek has played between in Zimbabwe (JBC), JBA (Dallas), Canada (Five), Central Africa (Bangui), Rwanda (Orion) and TBA (Austin Elite Squad).
Among many awards, he played in the final of TBA in 2025. He was voted to USBasket.com All-JBA Honorable Mention back in 2018.
Wek attended a camp at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
