Hitech - SWU 70-79 The most important game in the last round took place in Bangkok between third ranked Hitech (4-2) and eighth ranked SWU (2-4) on Wednesday night. Hitech was defeated by SWU in a tough game at home 70-79. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hitech. International center Afnan Charansarn (188-97) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Natthaworn Banjathon (179) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. SWU's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Nattakarn Muangboon (180-91) with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Nattapol Kupradit (175) scored 17 points. Four Hitech players scored in double figures. SWU moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Thunders and Shoot it Dragon. Defending champion Hitech keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Sting Rays and Dunkin' Raptors. SWU is looking forward to face Shoot it Dragon (#6) in the next round. Hitech will play against Thunders and is hoping to win this game. This time they crushed tenth ranked T-REX (0-6) 111-72. Bangkok Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to T-REX's 32. Bangkok Tigers forced 25 T-REX turnovers and outrebounded them 58-31 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by T-REX's players. Wuttipong Dasom notched a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American point guard Tanner Hazelbaker (184, college: WBU) supported him with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by Filipino guard Christian Calaguio (185-75, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for T-REX. Thanasap Phomin added 20 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bangkok Tigers have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. T-REX at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Bangkok Tigers will play against Mad Goat (#9) in Nakorn Phantom in the next round and are hoping to win another game. T-REX will play against the league's second-placed TGE and hopes to get finally their first victory. Sting Rays looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Thunders' players. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Jittaphon Towaroj (186-91) who scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international forward Chanachon Klahan (189-84) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Sting Rays players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Apisittinan Dasom (188-92) who recorded 30 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Cameroonian forward Fils Dongmo (201-89) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sting Rays have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Hitech and Dunkin' Raptors. Thunders lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with SWU and Shoot it Dragon. Sting Rays will meet higher ranked Dunkin' Raptors in the next round. Thunders will play against Hitech (#3) and hope to secure a win. TGE forced 20 Mad Goat turnovers and outrebounded them 50-38 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Anasawee Klaewnarong (199-93) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Manatsawe Booddoung (176) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. TGE's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Udomchot Thiamlert who recorded 8 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and center Woraphat Panklom (194) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TGE maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Bangkok Tigers. Loser Mad Goat dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. TGE will meet at home bottom-ranked T-REX (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mad Goat will play against the league's leader Bangkok Tigers and hope to win that game. Dunkin' Raptors moved-up to third place, which they share with Sting Rays and Hitech. Newly promoted Shoot it Dragon keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with SWU and Thunders. Dunkin' Raptors will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shoot it Dragon will play against SWU (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
